Import a resume from PDF

Bring text from an existing resume into Careerium. Choose a text-based PDF or paste your resume text, then review recognized fields before applying them to your draft.

Basic resume editing and PDF download are free and do not require an account.

How it works

For people who want to start editing an existing resume with Careerium templates without retyping every field.

  1. 1Sign in and open Resume Import in the editor.
  2. 2Choose a text-based PDF of up to 10 MB and 10 pages, or paste your resume text.
  3. 3Review the extracted information, select accurate fields and make corrections.
  4. 4Confirm that your current draft will be replaced, then apply the selected fields. Review your finished resume before downloading a PDF.

An example application

Example: Select the verified email, phone number and skills from your old PDF. Complete your experience descriptions in the editor and preview a new template.

Scope and limitations

  • Scans without a text layer and photos are unsupported; the tool does not perform OCR.
  • The original PDF layout is not preserved. Complex columns and unusual headings can affect text order.
  • Full automatic transfer of experience and education is not guaranteed; you may need to complete these sections manually.
  • Import replaces the current editor draft. Save any resume you want to keep to your account first.
